Maine Greyhound Placement Service is a humane, non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for retired racing Greyhounds that can no longer compete on the racetrack. MGPS is operated by volunteers and depends on fundraising for its operating expenses. MGPS currently operates an adoption center located in Augusta, Maine that places retired Greyhounds in New England and beyond. MGPS also maintains an informational newsletter, Greyhound pet supply store to support the kennel and operates a Spay Neuter Clinic at its Augusta location.
