The Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health (MIHGH) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit biomedical institute with a mission to foster translational and clinical research to support innovations in patient care in rural communities. MIHGH is a subsidiary of Eastern Maine Healthcare System (EMHS) and organizationally linked to Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC). The institute was founded under a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Maine and The Jackson Laboratory. Start-up funding was provided by EMHS and USAMRMC research program project contract.
